Rebecca Dillard and Crossway Teachers will facilitate this program — along with Dorian Ladue, M. Ed. , Director and teacher at Crossway Academy — that is designed to strengthen academics, communication and social skills through camp activities during the summer. Curriculum will be thematic units depending on the week with activities that include reading, math, communication skills, social skills, music, art, gym time, snacks and lunch. All content areas are North Carolina common core aligned.
This Year we are accepting kids as young as 4 to help get prepared for Kindergarten!
Please call Crossway Academy prior to registration to ensure the weeks you want are still available (704-847-3911).
We create a curriculum for the child: we don’t fit the child into the curriculum.
Fairy Tales and Fables
July 10-13 and July 17-20
Join us on our trip through the land of Fairy Tales and Fables! We will learn letter sounds with Jack and Jill, counting with Little Red Riding Hood, shapes and patterns with The Tortoise and the Hare, and handwriting with Jack and the Beanstalk. This year, the campers will create their own fairy tales to print and illustrate.
July 24-27 and July 31-Aug. 3
Calling all Superheroes! Calling all Superheroes! This summer we will become crime-fighting Superheroes in Training! We will create our very own Crossway Heroes Club. Each camper will create a superhero costume, persona, and comic book to take home at the end of the week!
Crossway Academy Summer Camp is for students’ ages 4-10 years who need academic, communication and social skills reinforced through the summer. Curriculum is differentiated for students with different age and ability levels.
We will be accepting no more than 12 campers per week. The ratio will be 1 to 4.
Camp at Crossway Academy is Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year we will be offering after camp care services until 4:30 for campers.
