Laura Martin - I am a mom of a student at Crossway Academy. My son started in the therapy clinic in 2017 and began attending our Academy Kindergarten in 2019. Crossway has been our happy place since the day we began here! Being a part of the PSO for the past two years has been of great pleasure! Supporting parents and our wonderful staff is something I value. I also enjoy supporting parents in our area with raising children with special needs. I am very thankful for the support I receive from fellow parents! Jessica Cohen - I’ve spent my career in higher education and have over 20 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management and event planning. I’ve served in various volunteer capacities throughout my son’s school career, including room parent, parents fund chair, and gala chair for the Virginia Institute of Autism in Charlottesville, VA. Our family has lived in Charlotte since 2018. The 2023-24 year will be our second year at Crossway Academy.

Caylin Boisvert - My name is Caylin Boisvert and I am mom to Noelle, who is in her first year at Crossway and is currently in Ms. Leah's class, and Campbell, who is 5 and will be going to Kindergarten at McAlpine next year! I have my BS in Accounting and currently work Part-Time as a bookkeeper for another Matthews small business, Bella Tunno. I am excited about possibly joining the PSO so I can get to know Crossway and the Crossway parents a little bit better.

Communications Secretary *

Dave Kluesner - My name is Dave Kluesner. I am married to my wife Mel and our son James has been a student at Crossway since January of ‘22. I work for a pharmaceutical company that specializes in allergen immunotherapy. I am involved in a number of committees for ongoing internal projects. I have served as the Secretary for a few so I think I can be of use for the open Secretary position. I work well with others working to accomplish shared goals and do not have an issue with authority. In this position I see myself as a facilitator as opposed to a leader. But am willing to provide feedback when needed. I appreciate everything Crossway has done for the development of our sweet boy and would like the opportunity to give back. Perhaps in the future I can take on a more senior role but feel at this point the Secretary position would be the best fit for me. Rosalyn Kartes - I have a Legal background, with a undergrad degree in journalism. Laura West - Hi! My name is Laura and my son Elliot is in Kindergarten at Crossway. I am a preschool teacher (toddlers) and love working with children. In addition to Elliot, I have 2 older children, ages 11 and 9. One is in CMS and the other goes to Telra Institute. I definitely have my hands full, but I love to be involved in my children’s schools. I used to be the head of the parent council at my children’s preschool (where I now work). That role involved coordinating with all the room parents, overseeing holiday/birthday/end of year activities and gifts, planning and executing teacher appreciation week, and planning and executing an end of year teacher luncheon. In an effort not to overcommit I am interested in the secretary opening, but I am ready and willing to help out in other areas as needed.
