More About Lori...
Lori Keller was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Campbell University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and returned to Charlotte to begin her career in education as a Lead Teacher at Metro School, serving students in grades 2–5 with moderate to severe disabilities.
Lori later moved to Raleigh, where she spent ten years teaching children with disabilities. During this time, she returned to Campbell University to complete the two-year Teaching Licensure Program, earning her North Carolina Educator’s License in Birth to Kindergarten (B–K). While in Raleigh, she remained active in supporting the special needs community—volunteering with children and adults at her church and serving on the board of the Triangle Down Syndrome Network.
In 2012, Lori met her husband, Heath, and returned to Charlotte in 2013. The couple married in 2014, and Lori continued her work in both general education and special education across several charter schools before welcoming their daughters, Lillie and Stella. While staying home with her girls, she provided contract services for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, offering ESY and compensatory services for students with disabilities, as well as specialized tutoring for former students.
When her oldest daughter began kindergarten, Lori returned to school-based work as an EC Coordinator and later moved into the role of Director of Special Services. She joined Crossway in February 2023 as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and became Head of School in August 2023. As of spring 2025, she also serves as the Executive Director of the Crossway Foundation.
Outside of work, Lori enjoys spending time with her family. Weekends often include cooking and grilling, hiking and outdoor adventures, working in the yard, family movie nights, and their famously competitive Uno championships. She also loves gathering with extended family—grandparents, uncles, and cousins—whenever possible.
