More About Hannah...

I I grew up in Wisconsin before moving to Florida to begin my teaching career. During my time there, I enjoyed visiting the beach, where I loved snorkeling and jumping in the waves. While I appreciated Florida's beautiful coastline, the most rewarding part of my experience was working with my students and watching our school community grow. After teaching special education in Florida, I returned to the Midwest and taught first grade in Madison, Wisconsin. It was there that I found a passion for helping students develop strong reading skills. Outside of the classroom, I enjoyed biking and running around Madison's beautiful lakes.
I am now excited to begin the next chapter of my journey in North Carolina. I look forward to meeting new people, building meaningful relationships, and creating lasting memories with my students, colleagues, and the community.
I am a third generation educator with over twenty-five years of experience covering preschool to high school. The one time I tried leaving education, I lost my sparkle, so the classroom is where I'm meant to be. My philosophy has always been: if I'm bored in my classroom, so are my students, and I don't like boring! When students come to my room, they should expect positive energy, movement, dancing, and laughter because teaching brings me joy, and I hope to share that joy with them.
